  He probably means reading sms to enable GPS on rooted phone. Enabling it all the time drains battery very quickly. It would be nice to prepare some root script, launched when we receive SMS with some PKI encrypted command.

  If I misplace my phone and it is off, is there a way to remotely turn it on and thus allow the scream function to work?

  or enable a coded sms to completely wipe the phone in a transparent way
  i.e.: someone steals my phone, so I send an sms to wipe the phone in background and then block it with some secret code

  LOVE YOUR APP - I think this question was to request a SIM card trigger. If the SIM card is replaced this triggers an event to text or email the new phone number to the registered user. Alternatively LMD could simply initiate an outbound SMS or email message. Another possibility is to display the phone number on the web interface.

  This gives me a lot of comfort knowing that I can locate my phone before having panic attacks. I wish I could choose my roommates friends for her. On high alert all the time. :=(
